Keynote Speakers:
Rt Hon Alan Johnson MP

Secretary of State for Trade & Industry
Mr Günter Verheugen

Vice-President of the European Commission
responsible for Enterprise and Industry

UK 's dynamism and wealth creation critically depends on enterprise. Positioning Britain as a nation of opportunity means we must inspire a whole new generation about the growing importance of enterprise in a changing world. This means mobilising education, business, development and regeneration agencies, workforce development and innovation programmes, and leisure, culture and youth activities towards a shared purpose. It means practically making ideas happen and ensuring support for UK 's aspiring entrepreneurs.

During the UK 's presidency of the European Union, this year's Enterprise Insight's summit will look at progress towards creating enterprising people and places and at the reinvigorated commitment to enterprise in the UK and increasingly across Europe .

Launching this year's UK wide Enterprise Week 2005 and debating a ‘ National' Strategy for Enterprise , the event will offer the opportunity to hear from leading international figures, as well as key individuals from across government, the public and private sectors. Enterprising Britain is a must attend for anyone engaged in fostering the growth of enterprising individuals and places.
